After discharge from the military, veterans place their military discharge (Form DD-214) on file with the
County Clerk's Office in the county in which they reside.
Veterans receive their first certified copy of their DD-214 free of charge, additional copies are $1.00 per copy.
If you would like to order by fax you must pay with a Visa or MasterCard. Photo ID is required when requesting a copy of your DD-214. To Order by fax please call (517) 676-7201 for ordering instructions

Ingham County Veterans Affairs is a County department that provides assistance to veterans and their families: with the acquisition of headstones, federal and state burial benefits, compensation and pension for disabled veterans and their families, placement in state nursing homes, educational benefits and a variety of other services.

Please be advised that as of Monday, August 1, 2016, there will be non-refundable service fees applied to all credit card transactions conducted with the Ingham County Clerk’s Office.

The service fee schedule below reflects the fee for each transaction amount, whether the credit card is swiped or if the card information is manually entered.
