Vital Records - Military Discharge - DD-214

After discharge from the military, veterans place their military discharge (Form DD-214) on file with the
County Clerk's Office in the county in which they reside.

Veterans receive their first certified copy of their DD-214 free of charge, additional copies are $1.00 per copy.

If you would like to order by fax you must pay with a Visa or MasterCard.  Photo ID is required when requesting a copy of your DD-214.  To Order by fax please call (517) 676-7201 for ordering instructions

Veterans Affairs is a department that provides assistance to veterans and their families: with the acquisition of headstones, federal and state burial benefits, compensation and pension for disabled veterans and their families, placement in state nursing homes, educational benefits and a variety of other services.
